Free Online Age Calculator

This advanced tool calculates your exact age from your date of birth down to the second. It breaks your age down into years, months, days, hours, minutes, and seconds, giving you a precise look at how long you've been alive.

Additionally, you'll discover your zodiac sign based on your birth date, learn about its characteristics, and see a countdown to your next birthday. Perfect for planning celebrations, filling out forms, or satisfying your curiosity about your age.

How It Works:

Simply enter your birth date and optionally your birth time for precise second-by-second calculations. Our calculator does the rest instantly and privately.

Why Use This Tool?

Our advanced algorithm accounts for leap years, varying month lengths, and time zones to provide the most accurate age calculation possible. The star sign information is based on traditional Western astrology.

More than “how old am I”

Most of the time, “how old are you” has an exact answer that is slightly awkward to work out by hand — the months borrow from the years, the days borrow from the months, and leap years quietly shift the total. This age calculator does it precisely: enter a date of birth and it returns the exact age in years, months and days. Add the time of birth and it counts down to the second. It also shows the zodiac sign for the birth date, with its characteristics, and a countdown to the next birthday, so the same page answers both the practical question and the fun one.

How to use it

  1. Enter the date of birth (and the birth time, if you want the age to the second).
  2. Read the exact age in years, months and days.
  3. Check the extras: zodiac sign and the countdown to the next birthday.

Worked examples

Someone born on 15 March 1998 is, on 27 October 2026, exactly 28 years, 7 months and 12 days old — born under Pisces, with the next birthday, the 29th, falling on 15 March 2027. The calculator reaches that by counting 28 full years to 15 March 2026, 7 full months to 15 October 2026, and 12 remaining days. The second example is the one parents meet every September: a child born on 2 September 2021 is 4 years, 11 months and 30 days old on 1 September 2026 — one day short of five, which can matter when a school or sports league sets an age cut-off by a fixed date. Dates of birth are handled correctly across leap years, so a 29 February birthday does not throw the count off in ordinary years.

People use it for school and job application forms that ask for age on a specific basis, for eligibility checks with cut-off dates, for invitations and birthday planning, and out of plain curiosity. Your birth date is never sent or stored — the calculation happens entirely in your browser. Free, with no sign-up.
